Love and God
I see more activity in our blog here. One more person has decided to follow this blog and there has been another comment posted. I welcome the new member to the blog and hope she becomes an active participant in our discussions, which are just starting to take off. It was nice to read the latest comment posted. I, probably, will post my own comments to the statement in question, viz, VIRTUE COMES NOT FROM ABSTAINING FROM VICE BUT BY NOT DESIRING IT, sometime early next week. In fact, I will not be able to write much today either. The reasons for the same being :
1. I have been having a lot of problems with my eyes for more than 3 months now and they are troubling me more today. Need to give some rest to them too.
2. The movie MY NAME IS KHAN is being released today and I am slightly disturbed by the events taking place surrounding the movie. I need all my emotions to subside before I can write and publish another post.
I will, probably, not be able to post anything over the weekend either but I do look forward to posting something new by next Tuesday.
This weekend, a lot of people in the world are going to celebrate Valentine's Day. I hope you guys celebrate it too, in the best possible manner. Valentine's day is a day of celebrating love and for me, love is the best gift of GOD to mankind. Only a person who has known love can know GOD.
That's all for now.
Till next time......Bye and God bless.
Nilesh, you say that only someone who has loved can know God - I would turn that round and say that only someone who knows God can truly love. God's nature is love and it is by knowing Him that we discover the true meaning of unconditional love.
ReplyDeletegood one Tim! human love is no comparison to God's love!
ReplyDeleteTim, I agree with you when you say that God's nature is love..... but it is not easy to love someone unconditionally. I have personally gone through a phase in life when I stopped believing in God.But I was very lucky to regain my faith in him, about 10 yrs ago, and understand that if you really have faith in him than you should love him unconditionally. Most of us are not able to love anyone unconditionally. Before you begin to love unconditionally, you must atleast feel love for someone and understand what it means to love.Only someone who has experienced love and knows what it means to love (even if conditional) will be able to finally love, understand and know God and HIS love and love God unconditionally.
ReplyDeleteIt isnt that we humans cant love God unconditionally. We all have the aptitude to do so if we WANT. most of us(including me)want the other person to make the sacrifices first and then we do our part!i have learnt that when God gives us hardships, its his way of loving us because its only then that we truly SEE. other than that, we all are just drifting along with relaly no end goal. But once the hardships hit us, we pull ourselves together and put the faith where it belongs-in God!looking from a 5000mile up in the sky, we are all struggling to be happy...but happiness is not this...happiness is something different..ok..now i am going on a tangent!i will stop..but i think you get the message i am trying to write. Love is God and God is Love...there is nothing else to write about it
ReplyDeleteThis is in response to everyday1971:
ReplyDeleteYour statement that we can all love GOD unconditionally if we WANT to itself tells us that it is difficult to do so.As I said in my previous comment to this post, to love somebody UNCONDITIONALLY, even if it is GOD himself/herself,is a very very difficult thing to do for us humans.Only when you have COMPLETE faith in your GOD will you be able to love him unconditionally and accept whatever he gives you in life.I am reminded of Krishna's childhood friend Sudama here.Sudama lived his life in penury but loved Krishna unconditionally, without asking anything from him.How many of us are capable of such faith and love for our GOD? Incidentally, I regained my faith in Krishna after reading Sudama's story again about 10 yrs ago and I consider myself blessed. As far as putting your faith in GOD when you face hardships is concerned, I would only remind you all about a "doha" that we all studied at school......DUKH MEIN SUMIRAN SAB KAREIN SUKH MEIN KAREIN NA KOI,JO SUKH MEIN SUMIRAN KAREIN DUKH KAAAHE KO HOYE!I hope you got the point.....
